"I saw this elderly man being rolled into the Apple Store at the nearby mall where I sat at the Genius Bar getting repairs for my MacBook Air. I was trying to make out what his hat said when I caught the one word, “again.” As he was pulled up to a spot across from me, the African-American woman who was caring for him gave me a smile as I finally got the chance to read it. He nodded yes when I asked to take a picture of him, told me his daughter had made the hat for him. And... I just loved everything about him - the young guy helping him with the big smile and faint tattoos on his arms. The woman wheeling him in with the quiet smile. And him. Probably 80-ish. In the Apple Store, up for learning about his computer. Wearing his hat with pride. This is the America I love. Empathetic, open-minded, and embracing technology. Learning. Yep, this elderly man was like a king of yesteryear on his portable throne. And oh, how he made me smile. ~Maya"
