this is fucking hilarious

Partly because the piss-poor excuse of a video is the best thing an entire nation of conservatives could come up with, but mostly because its over a year old and the handful of level-headed Republicans left in America are probably crying their eyes out, while the ignorant masses just keep jerking off over their copies of Ivanka Trumps 'Women Who Work'.

Trump should consider his #1 accomplishment to be firing James Comey. That was the act of a great man. James Comey was a terrorist in the guise of a litigator, bent on destroying the freedom of every American. He imprisoned elderly women who bake cookies for a living for fun. He wanted to turn every iPhone owner in the world into the prospective criminals under eternal surveillance.

The FBI is just a generally shitty authoritarian organization. It does shitty things. Thankfully, it is no longer run by the international terrorist overlord James Comey. I am quite enjoying Trump taking the FBI down a peg. It's even more funny considering the FBI is notoriously conservative and supported Trump from the start, LOL.

Like, wow... Where do you get your drugs?

What are you talking about? Does your obsession with American authority blind you to James Comey's transgressions? You can be head of the FBI, an intelligent man and simultaneously spend your entire career throwing martha stewarts into prison and advocating for a surveillance state the likes of which has only existed in the minds authors like George Orwell.

I think many liberals have a short memory for when they were last violated and abused. You have fond memories of Obama that are somehow entangled with your actual memories of psychopath terrorist litigator James Comey making speeches about how Apple is aiding terrorists and how encryption itself should be illegal.

1 - Wanting the surveillance state is basically what every head of law enforcement wants
2 - Wanting a way around encryption is basically what every head of law enforcement wants

Both of these things make their job easier.

I'm aware of one questionable thing that Comey did. But "psychopathic terrorist"? The former head of the FBI? What possible basis do you have to make that assertion, or was it simply the most hyperbolic descriptor you could think of?

If 1 and 2 are the case then why aren't these numerous law enforcement officials making public campaigns to pressure congress or picking fights with tech companies by name at every turn?

You may be correct that every head of law enforcement wants those things but it seems that only James Comey was enough of an authoritarian to actually act on their desires. They must all realize that a surveillance state in reality would be a bad thing. Perhaps they are all simply cowards and only James Comey has the balls to even attempt to advocate for such idiocy. The pathology doesn't really matter in the end, the result was that James Comey was a miserable FBI head who did nothing good for the country except be fired. In being fired, he did the only decent thing he's every done in his career and created a reason to call for a special prosecutor. I thank him for that and wish him good luck at the unemployment office. He would make a good tender at an ice cream stand with his long arms, hopefully he chooses that as his future career choice instead of law enforcement.

Gawd. Martha Stewart lied to the FBI to cover her stockbroker's illegal activities. It's the same way Scooter Libby lied but she didn't have anybody to commute her sentence. She served 4 months standing on her head.

Give us the details of this massive surveillance state Comey proposed. I realize that they wanted Apple to put a back door into their phone encryption but that's about it, isn't it? As it turns out, they found a way to hack the encryption, anyway, rendering the whole thing moot.

It's all about providing whatever cover you can for Trump, anyway.

I don't know the US's politics that well, but I've seen similar activities going on in European countries, hence my comments that Comey's behaviour is hardly unique, nor have I heard any law enforcement representative (even a retired one) state that they thought such plans were a bad idea.

That's where you're wrong. If you like, I can cite a few examples.

The pathology doesn't really matter in the end, the result was that James Comey was a miserable FBI head who did nothing good for the country except be fired. That's quite a climb-down from "psychopathic terrorist".
