They want to be mad at Democrats for [doing too much/doing too little/not doing it just right/being their parents/not magicking a majority] and the media ecosystem feeds this. You see this dynamic with some posters here, who won't even pick up the phone to badger their own Republican representatives because they've already given up and assume they are completely immune to constituent concerns.
