I have three cousins in Australia, of which I've met all of them. Two first and a second. I posted this on my FB and tagged them - how accurate was this.

Two responded, and said well, kinda not at all. Nothing here is quite as fucked up as your country lol

The world is watching and is both horrified and laughing at the shit show that the Republican party has turned this country into

In and out was already paying their employees $20+ so I don’t understand how people are claiming their costs went up.
Californians have been getting away with relatively cheap eating out for years, compared to other civilized parts of the country due to who and how they pay restaurant workers.
Live down their for 2.5 years, moved back to WA and the Red Robin prices were typically a $1 to a $1.50 more for the identical food.

California pays its restaurant workers the same way we do in WA. They get the full state minimum wage ( or more) plus they get to keep their tips…unlike most of the red states that allow the employers of tipped workers to pay them as little as $2.13/hr and make the, use their tips to make up the rest of the minimum wage. We lived in NorCal for 25 years before moving back to WA.
