Disappointing. At the very least I hoped it represented another failure of the chaotic 'blue tick' system. I bet there is some small constituency for which that tweet would make perfect sense, though. If there's at least one guy waving a 'Blacks for Trump' banner, 'Gays for Guns', must exist, surely?

If a tweet is a picture of a tweet and it seems out of the norm, chances are it's not real.

And it's very easy to just go to the twitter account and see if it's real or not.

Though people seem to post screenshots because they don't like linking directly to Twitter, in the Musk era. Plus I rarely could be bothered with Twitter even before, certainly not going to go searching around the site now. Still hoping it dies soon.

My main point was just that with all the blue-tick shenanigans that have gone on, it wouldn't have surprised me for someone to actually be posting such stuff as "the NRA".

And, as I say, I can see no fundamental conceptual reason why gun-fans couldn't also be pro-LGBT rights.

Haven't the energy to watch the video. Can you not just tell me in words what the fundamental conceptual reason is?

I mean, I'm sure in practice, due to how culture and politics work, there's a very large overlap between pro-gun folk in the US and those who are right-wing on multiple other issues, but that's not a basic conceptual reason.

Just as there were left-wing pro-Brexit people, I'm assuming there are probably pro-gun folk who are not right wing on all issues.

Killer Mike from Run the Jewels is pro-2A, but definitely on the left for many other issues. He also comes at from a different angle: where a lot of gun enthusiasts really just want to play pretend soldier or carry big toys that go boom, Mike sees it as a matter of defense for Black people who are frequently targets of violence. I don't share his stance on guns, but I respect him much more than your typical 2A diehard.
