Until you have nerve damage that makes weight/pressure against your body hurt more. I'm all about warmest with least weight: a down comforter.
I get the idea of weighted blankets for warmth, but I've also seen thin ones that are weights and a bit of poly stuffing. That's a security blanket IMO.
