The only way to get there is for Dems to pick actual liberals as candidates and deliver. As long as the Dems keep picking old school Republicans (Lieberman, Manchin, Sinema) they are going to keep getting throw out after accomplishing nothing.
No more pathetic Clinton Republican Lite!

If Trump's supporters would only see him through Melania's eyes, eyes that have seen what he's really like from the most intimate point of view since 2005, maybe they'd feel the same way Melania does. Eh, who am I kidding. They'd like him even more than they do now. Want proof? After his four disastrous years as POTUS 70+ million of them wanted him back to wreak even more damage. It's like they want/wanted to punish everyone else for the pain, humiliation and suffering they've brought upon themselves from having to put up with Trump constantly proving to them they really really screwed the pooch when they bought into his bullshit campaign rhetoric and chose him to be their leader.

Nah, nothing would change. They absolutely do see him the same way she does, but just like her, they made the deal, which is why neither her, nor they are willing to move on. The truth is, they're more alike him than different (only difference is the money because Turmp inherited a shitload) and moving on would require them to face that truth. Its easier for them to swallow it down than face that reality, they're used to the former, not so much the latter.

It doesn't work that way with cult followers. They have drunk the kool-aid.
