Ironic usage of 'Barbarous' considering the origins of the term Barbarians, used to describe and disparage groups of far-flung peoples who one had on real knowledge of or reason to fear, in order to feel superior over them.I think it's the latest conservative talking point. For example:
"Barbarous Iran is the real Great Satan, but the morally bankrupt Left is incapable of admitting it"
Translation: Uhhh, we need a way to mindlessly defend Trump's decision to try and start WW3. I know, it's the fault of his critics! Throw in lots of adjectives, that'll tell our audience what to think!
Self-awareness has never been a strong suit of the fearful though.
