No, they were here once.

They were a lot more civil then they are now. They brought a higher level of intelligence to this forum.

This forum was better when they were here.

What happened with the Forums is in some ways a reflection of what has happened in society. I participate in both forums, however I have always had an interest in the world around me. That includes what is happening with people around the world, their cultures and that leads to an awareness of the political universe as well.

There are others who also have similar interests. The problem is that we have a war on our hands, and have become polarized both here and across the country. When our nation starts shooting people, there will be people who support it, and others who do not. I am one against the present administration, and being an opinionated SOB (which face it we all are who post on internet forums) say what I think.

When people die, some people get upset because we are doing the killing, as do those who support that action and believe in it's purpose. That is just how it works. P&N was created to contain the conflict here, however that had the side effect of siphoning off the posters who think of a great many other things as well. As a result, spyder threads, YAGT, and such have proliferated to the point where the inane is the rule on OT. Most often I post for fun, but serious discourse is left for PM the majority of the time.

IMO that has caused a number of old time posters to not shift to P&N where it does get carried away at times, but to get bored and leave period. While I still post here, there is not much substance.

One day I hope they will merge the forums, but that day is probably a long time off.
