Some can some can't just like guys.

right. we aren't saying they can't. just its a fraction of the number of men. Just as its rare ot see men as stay at home dads and low grades teacher or nurses or such.

Though some women do physical work their whole lives so the transition is easy. I remember reading about a indian tribe (maybe the one orginal earl linked but i don't think it was sasketchewan) that the women had been doing hard physical labor and they transitioned ot minors and loggers.

Using World War II as an example, where women filled in a lot of jobs held by men so the men could go off to the battle fronts and fight the enemy, I see where necessity is sometimes a major factor in women taking on traditionally male jobs and being quite successful at it. In a sense, that major historical occurrence gave women a launching pad for taking on jobs that were previously seen as either unladylike or sexually demeaning in some way or another.

Women have the fortitude and ability to take on a whole range of occupations traditionally held by men, the only limitation being physical aptitude where jobs held by women are then the exception than the norm, but IMO "GI Jane" is still such a fantasy that even Hollywood couldn't sell it with any hint of success. ;)

Some jobs that women can't do

Your images compose about 5% of the manual labor work group occupied by women. What about the other 95%?

It's not that women "can not" do the job, they just do not want to.

There is a difference between "can't" and "won't".

I think it's rather settled.

Aside from some folks who think it's 'funny' to watch people who disagree with bigoted statements act 'butt hurt'; the general point is agreed upon by all parties.

Woman can do these jobs and women should be allowed to try out for these jobs; but at no point should the skills-needed requirements be watered down and at no point should the qualification become "has a penis".

Nothing really to argue about.

What is a "git"?

I spent 15 years in various welding shops across southeast Texas. Would you like to know how many women welders or fitters I saw in that time?

1

There was one female welder I saw in that 15 years.

I never saw a female boiler maker, pressure vessel fitter or female pipe fitter in that 15 years.

I have been working on tug boats for the past 7 months. Would you like to know how many women I have seen in the past 7 months working on tug boats?

And how much of that is the "guys will treat them like shit" problem? My sister in law started doing data base administration/inventorying stuff at a warehouse and packing facility; and while she had good humor about the constant sexual harassment, she did inform the owner who then made her a pariah because she should 'just take' having her ass slapped.

There's self-selection; but then there's also bing an asshole.

So if the % of 'masuline'-woman you've met is higher than the % of women in jobs that are 'masculine'; then there's likely a problem outside of self-selection out of said jobs.

While I understand and respect your question, I choose not to answer you directly.

There are laws to protect people such as your sister-in-law. If she chooses not to exercise her rights, that is her choice.

The fact stands, women choose not to do the jobs that men do. When it comes to manual labor, working away from home for weeks or months at a time, dirty jobs, dangerous jobs,,,, women refuse to participate.

I think there are a number of positions in the sex worker industry where "has a penis" is a pretty hard requirement.

I know several women who fit all of those characteristics.

Therefore... Texashiker is a woman.

Everyone feel free to check my math, but I'm certain my logic is impeccable.

eh, you guys are mistaking basic employment jobs for self employed or specialized. when you are a ranch wife, i.e. you are BORN into the job, it doesn't matter if you are male or female - and i never said women "can't do".

the americas are also far more rural than europe, which contributes to the equality. but in social situations, women are not attracted to certain jobs; it is my observation, that women tend to like some thing far less than men, such as : swearing, getting dirty, doing painful things, breaking things, putting really big things on top of other things

sweating, killing things, and such.

its not absolutism, it's a matter of statistics.

Nope. Most of Europe has a higher % of rural inhabitants than the US does.
