One thing that is known to play a role in Alzheimer's is inflammation. gum infections result in inflammation, as do a number of things we do to our human body. I.e. long-distance runners generate inflammation in their bodies.
I expect the results of this study and the media oversimplification will result in more money for dentists. Though with Medicare not paying for dental work (in general) the Alzheimers target market won't be able to take action based on this study.

The actual solution is simpler: eat the right foods to inhibit the growth of it in the first place.
