You might remember the P. Diddy post-party for the MTV Video Music Awards. It was the one with the party policy invitation that was discussed in this thread.
I just read a quote from Jameel Spencer, the head of P. Diddy's "lifestyle marketing" company Blue Flame. Spencer, who was responsible for making all the arrangements for the event, was discussing the party: "When kids see the party on TV, they want to buy into Puff's lifestyle, to consume his records, his clothing."
It's always about the money.
