Not a fan of oysters, (reminds me of a mouthful of snot) but I loves me some good tuna.

What kind of tuna?

Is that the Kaimuki location? I go to the Kaneohe one a lot, the smoked tako is good stuff too!

Where? Hard to find oysters in LA.

I noticed it was hard to find oysters in LA and SD this past week when I was on vacation. What's the deal with that, are you too far south to be catching them?

Quality Seafood Redondo Beach. Over 20 varieties available. The ones mentioned above were about 2.30 each. Also had live sea urchin at about 7 per.

Live Dungeness was a rip @ 20/lb, but cooked was pretty cheap and the clams and shit looked really fresh

Oh, and oysters are the bomb. I had a friend that worked as a digger for Taylor Shellfish up here on the Puget Sound. He could dig me a cooler-full of oysters and clams in about 10 minutes. We'd take them camping and just cook them up in a big cast iron pan right on the campfire.

They did an episode of Dirty Jobs with Taylor Shellfish once. My friend wasn't in it though.

Ugh Redondo is such a rip off. As for Dungeness I just get them for $3-4/lbs at the Korean or Chinese supermarket and cook at home.

That's why I opted for the clams. Clams generally look disgusting at Asian supermarkets, looked fantastic here.

I would also never get oysters from an Asian supermarket.

The only seafood I buy at Asian supermarkets will usually be fresh crabs or the occasional sea bass. I wouldn't get clams or oysters at an Asian supermarket, either.

...And this is coming from an Asian!

BTW Kanalua that looks delicious!!!

Yup, Kaimuki. My new favorite place. Love Pokestop's Creamy Ahi poke in Waipahu...but I live in Makiki...so...
