Oxymoron of the day

Muse

Lifer
Turned on my TV to watch the evening news, CBS affiliate, San Francisco @ 5PM. Something like a commercial was on just before 5PM: A pretty woman in a red dress stands there and says "...you can achieve the impossible. All it takes is being all in." I'm wha? By definition you CANNOT achieve the impossible. 🙄

"Welcome to zombocom"
You can do anything at zombocom
"Welcome to zombocom"
You can do anything at zombocom
"Welcome to zombocom"
You can do anything at zombocom
"Welcome to zombocom"
You can do anything at zombocom

... this is getting old, I'm done with zombocom.
This is ZomboCom!
And welcome to you, who have come to ZomboCom.
Anything ... is possible ... at ZomboCom.
You can do ... anything at ZomboCom.
The infinite is possible at ZomboCom.
The unattainable is unknown at ZomboCom.
Welcome to ZomboCom.
This ... is ZomboCom.

I had a friend who wore a T shirt one day that said:

An oxymoron a day keeps reality away

I looked online, couldn't find one for sale.

Ever heard of Lead Zeppelin ? There you go.

no, I have never heard of Lead Zeppelin. Led Zeppelin and Dread Zeppelin, yes.
Yeah, you know how Led Zep got it's name? IIRC, they were talking to some member(s) of the Who, who said the venture had as much chance of getting off the ground as a Lead Zeppelin. But of course, that was hyperbole. So they said, well, OK, that's gonna be our band name.

Saying you, the TV watcher, can achieve the impossible is just OMG stupid. It's literally impossible, by definition.

How many times do you hear people say "very unique".

And what about this "more perfect" union we are supposed to be forming?

This one's been bothering me: "Little bit." You hear it many times every day, well, I do, and I'm SIP solo (TV, radio ...). Bit is better than little bit.

Just watch me! I'm going to the NBA.

My mom said that I can do anything I put my mind too. :grimacing:
Well, you can get a seat at a game... well, when the pandemic's over. If you go out on the floor I think you will find your elbows grabbed by a couple of big strong guys and be taken off the floor pretty quickly! 😀

I hate that word...impossible...it's just an excuse for something we aren't smart enough to figure out. I truly believe that nothing is impossible. Anything is possible given enough effort, time, and energy.

Impossible is a word that should not exist.
