LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- Occupy LA protesters demonstrated on the steps of Los Angeles Unified School District headquarters Monday, speaking out against the district's dismissal of a substitute teacher who made public comments deemed anti-Semitic at a recent protest.

The teacher, Patricia McAllister, spoke out at a recent Occupy LA protest, saying the Jews run the nation's banking infrastructure and should be forced to leave the U.S.

"I think that the Zionist Jews who are running these big banks and our Federal Reserve, which is not run by the federal government -- they need to be run out of this country," McAllister said in the video by Reason.tv, a Libertarian-leaning news organization.

McAllister stood by her words Tuesday, speaking with KTLA 5. When it was suggested that her statement was racist, she refused to back down.

"It is not racist, it's the truth," McAllister said. "Anyone who speaks against the Jews are called racists nowadays."

McAllister is black. When suggested that someone might be considered racist if making similar comments about African-Americans, she refused to agree.

"If we were destroying this nation, they'd better say something and take us down with it," she said.

McAllister's comments weren't endorsed by Occupy LA or United Teachers of Los Angeles -- the labor union representing the city's educators.

District officials released a statement supporting McAllister's freedom of speech, but saying the district would "never stand for behavior that is intolerant, disrespectful or discriminatory."

McAllister's status as a substitute teacher makes her an at-will employee and she has been relieved of her duty, officials said.

She can go hang out with Mahmoud Icantspellhislastname, in Iran. I blame incompetent politicians and self righteous, entitled children. These have no boundaries of skin color, religious, or ethnic group.

Gee, what a shock. People who can't take responsibility over their sad, sorry life blame someone else. So once it's billionaires, then it's Wall Street, and now it's the Jews.

Get ready for it,...

Fox News reports that,....

radical African American Occupy Wall Street Protestor/Baby Eater, who may or may not be a Terrorist, has attacked the Israel image!!!

I do find it very troubling that there seem to be more and more instances of anti-semitism in those crowds. The media is just now starting to report about it.

One nutjob does not a movement make, but the opponents of the movement will do their best to use it to discredit the movement.

They're desperate, obviously.

This is in fact a thread about a Nazi substitute teacher who just happens to be a progressive.

Anti-semitism seems to have become almost trendy in some progressive circles these days. Go to the huffington Post and look up their story about Gilad Shalit (or just about any other story about Israel or Jews for that matter). The reporting is fine. However, if you look in the comments section, you will be flat out disgusted with many of the comments from posted by liberasl/progressives there.

Just like with the Tea Party, you're going to find people with extreme views right?

One problem with the actual protests I've seen in this country is that people try to bring in every crazy left-wing viewpoint they can no matter how irrelevant it is.

saw it on the news yesterday

1. chick got fired from her job
2. there was a lady standing right next to her during the interview and said in a followup interview (literally interrupted her) and said "yeah she doesn't speak for us"

She's wrong and I don't see why people are supporting her. That said, the OWS in NY actually had a service around the recent Jewish holiday(whatever it is/don't recall). So you have 1 example for one position vs 100s-1000s for the opposite.

Yeah, thats why I used the word instances. its obviously not even close to being the entire crowd. Just like not everyone who shows up to tea party rallies is racist.

What a complete moron. People of all religions are running Wall Street. OWS protesters need to tell lunatics like her to GTFO.

If you look back through history, it's always "the Jews." Sad, but true. It's exactly why the Jews need their own state, because everywhere they live there are too many people like this asshole.

Yup. Germans blamed the Jews for a ton of things, their economic problems being one of them.

There are several videos out there right now with anti-semantic rhetoric from the 99% morons.

The Nazi Party was originally more progressive than Karl Marx, but then when Hitler came in he cut out the progressive planks.

McAllister needs to get her facts straight as the banking system is NOT fucking run by Jews, it's run by the state. Without the state, the banking system would collapse. The Fed should be close enough for greenbackers like McAllister.

Heh. Anybody can claim to be a member of the OWS movement, which doesn't mean they express the views of the greater movement at all.
