OWS Non-Bathers fail in thieir "Occupy Black Friday" threat

cybrsage

Stores across the U.S. seem to be occupied only by shoppers this Black Friday despite a call for protestors to disrupt the busiest shopping day of the year.
The Occupy Wall Street movement announced last week their plan to “Occupy Black Friday” at stores across the country but as of mid-morning shopping was not hindered by the anti-greed movement.
There were no major reports of Occupiers taking over malls and stores across the U.S. except for a group in front of Macy’s in New York City’s Herald Square where a larger rally is expected later Friday Afternoon.

In fact, the exact opposite of what they wanted to happen was seen:

Despite a lagging economy and high unemployment rates, retailers are reporting this year is one of the best for sales, with 152 million shoppers expected to hit stores this Black Friday.

Apparently, the general population could not really care less about what the non-bathers say.

Their msg for this was silly. They tried to frame it as if the rich were the only benefactors of black friday. Nevermind the millions that are employed by retailers across the country. So who would had been hurt more by not shopping Friday? The rich or the retail employee?

They are selfish people who do not bathe, why would they care that the people hurt by this were those they pretend to represent?

Non-bathers? Seriously? Thats on the same level as "Bobo, the post turtle" being repeated ad nauseum. But go ahead, ignore the current trends that the non-elite of this country face, spout this FNC nonsense, and fiddle while Washington DC burns.

Look, I support the Occupy movements, but this was not thier brightest idea. What they should be doing is supporting BF, but for American-made goods and local businesses.

I'm sympathetic to some of OWS complaints but this is just ridiculous. Retailers are not the source of the problems they claim to be protesting. This just looks like pure anti-capitalism.

I haven't paid too much attention to OWS, but I don't understand what their beef is with retail stores. Retail stores actually have to work for their profits; they actually do something for the money.

You answered yourself. Most of the non-bathers do not want to work to get stuff. They are demanding things like having the rich pay off their debt they accrued when they want to school...etc.

But it's capitalism, man! It's the corporations making people buy stuff. Damn corporations, being all corporationy. You see the corporations provide stuff and employee people, man, they're part of the machine...man! And those corporations...man...all corporationy.

The best we can do, man, to fight the man, man, is to fight the corporations selling stuff.

Capitalism is evil! Stop the consumer from buying their stuff....man.

They're both protesting the Wall Street corruption, and protesting by disrupting things - the camping, sometimes blocking traffic, sometimes striking. It's not aimed at the stores.

For example, Oakland interefered with the port; then the head of the union there asked them to end that because it was going to hurt the workers if it continued. They left.

Protests often interfere with people they're not aimed at.

Fixed it for you in bold. Unions do not care if non-union workers are hurt, and neither do the non-bathers.

Sorry, but I think you failed at making a thread. There's already a very deep OWS thread this could have been added to.

You further fail by saying " non-bathers ". Alot of protesters are part time protesters because they have jobs. Despite whatever propaganda you get your information from may be telling you. Or maybe you listen to rush or hannity and they say it so you say it... idk.

I know it's fun to have somebody to make fun of and insult, etc. But I assure you, you're not going to be having the last laugh. Look at the shape our country is in. These "non bathers" aren't the ones "loaning" out trillions of dollars to too big to fail banks.

They're not the ones telling everybody the bailouts are paid back when in fact they are not. ... But, go ahead. Name call, change the subject and stay ignorant. Do what is expected of you and not a bit more.

True, Obama is the one saying the money should be loaned. I am pretty sure he bathes...but he also has a job and has no desire to sleep out in a city square, block traffic, and try to prevent people from spending money on good deals.
