Ownership of a domain name.

I used to own a couple domain names, but I've long since let them slip out of my grasp. What service can I use to see who controls them if anyone grabbed them up?

Nevermind. I found it. Someone's got control of it, but it looks like they aren't asking much for it, only $9.95.

I think I'm getting my domain name back.

Dang, I was wrong about the price. I think what I saw was the price to register the name. I clicked on make offer and it said all bids must exceed $1000.

Damn, I gotta get that back. It's set to expire Jun 11, 2008. Perhaps if I acted fast enough...

I would just give up, find a new domain and don't forget to renew it next time!

Most likely when the domain expires they'll just renew it - forever.

If they don't renew it - you could use a domain backordering service such as SnapNames.com.

Yes it sucks and welcome to domain squatting 😕

Done. I went with the shortened version, tacdyn.com, which no one grabbed, when I came up with the original, tacticaldynamics.com, years ago, maybe a decade or so. I sat on both, but when I gave up on the game company dream, I let them slide away.

I'm still going to try and get the full name back, some how, now that I've gotten the urge again. Maybe a bid if my company does take off.

My predecessor let our old car club's name go, i have yet to see an offer of less than $2500 for the old domain. :Q Sad thing was, it rarely generated more than 500MB of traffic in a few months time but they refuse to let it expire. I just grabbed every variation on the name I could and I await their mistake on letting it lapse, though i'm not holding my breath.
