Owners of a 30 gig IBM 75GXP ATA100 drive, HELP!

How does your drive show up in device manager? Mine shows as:

IBM-DTLA-307030
Firmware revision: TX40

I only ask cuz when I run Preformance Test 3.3, I get, what seems to me, to be fairly lack luster performance.

Disk - Sequential Write: 20.2 mb/sec
Disk - Sequential Read: 15.4
Disk - Random Seek + RW: .87
Disk Mark: 96.4 Composite Average

Here is my current configuration:

Duron 700 @ 900
ASUS A7V
128 megs PC133
TNT2 Ultra
ASUS S500 50x

Do those number seem right? Is the model number correct for device manager? Let me know what shows up for you. Thanks!

Got 2 in a raid0 array, but the mobo is actually down so canot cach.
Anyway, what controller is it hooked up to? And do you have the latest DMA driver?

I have 2 on a KT7 non-RAID, they show up as Generic IDE Disk Type 47 and Generic IDE Disk Type 80 respectively. I get 27+MBytes/sec on benchmarks.

yes. and i've installed the latest promise drivers off of the asus web site. i don't know why it's going to slow!!

I have the same, DTLA 307030 Scsi device. I have mine on the promise controller thats the reason for scsi. I can't seem to find firmware revision using 2000.

I was just reading the reply about DMA and I double checked the settings, and DMA isn't an option on it. So I don't know what the deal is!
