LCD screen is not on the right side, assuming shutter button is on top right. The only reasonable explanation is that he's shooting in some kind of auto/timer mode in which you don't need your finger on the shutter to shoot pic.

Actually, now I dunno. Maybe Shark guy is right. But that looks like the front of the camera, with a finger hold for the shutter, and there appears to be a lens in the shadow of the guy's hand. You can definitely see the viewfinder, but I dunno if that's the front or the back. But the bright thing next to it looks like a light sensor. And then there's a logo.
