I went to rent to the local blockbuster to rent a movie tonight and, to my surprise, they already had "Signs" sitting up by the counter for sale. I was baffled. at first I thought that they were just going to give you the case, and you could come back and get the disc on Tuesday or something foolish like that, as a sorta pre-pay thing, but then I noticed it had the factory seal on it.

So, anyway, I just got done watching it, and It's all good.

On top of that, Blockbuster price matches, and I said that Walmart was going to have the movie for 14.99 (I wasn't positive, but this is usually the walmart release week price.)

It was probably a mistake that they put it out early, so that's why it's YMMV.

The blockbuster I got it at was the Springboro, Ohio location.

See ya.

Signs Signs
Everywhere there's signs
Blocking up the scenery
Breaking up my mind
Do this, don't do that
Can't you read the sign

And the sign says "long hair freaky people need not apply"
So I put my hair under my hat and I went in to ask him why
He said you look like a fine outstanding young man I think you'll do
So I took off my hat I said "Imagine that Huh Me working for you"

hehe old skool signs!

Movie rocked and this is definitely YMMV. I'm sure someone put this out accidently.

I can't comment on the movie as I haven't seen it, but Media play is selling it for $15.99 and they will let you buy Sixth Sense for $9.99 if you buy it with Signs. I really liked Sixth Sense so I think this is a good deal. Being a Mediaplay rewards member makes it even better.

signs is available at some best buys currently as well. 14.99. buy it +(unbreakable or sixth sense) for 25.

<edit>not sure why you'd want it however. it was an ok movie to see once, freaked me out (im a wuss) but the ending was just terribly lame. just my humble opinion</edit>

Yeah, I loved Sixth Sense and figured that director guy was good. He went downhill from there. I liked (not loved) unbreakable. Then signs, ugh. I hated that. In sixth sense, the suprise of the movie was that the guy was dead through the whole movie. In unbreakable, it was the revealing of the bad guy. What was it in signs? That the aliens have landed? Blah. Way way too slow too.

Without a doubt his best movie yet. Although not your typical idiodic "modern thought" movie.

Some people might think it was bad, but worst movie ever? I don't think so. I thought it was okay personally.

In Signs... its about signs (not just crop circles)... that's all I can say without spoiling...

I liked the movie. The ending wasn't too good and I had some problems about the aliens weakness. However, Signs plus The Sixth Sense for $25 is worth it for me but a lot of people didn't like the movie.

Soapbox:

A lot of people walked into Signs thinking it was something other than what they ended up seeing. People were expecting a movie about alien invasion, which was only an obscure background item in Signs. The real story here was the journey of a broken man to regain his own belief system, and in fact his own life. To say that Signs was stupid is a shallow interpretation, it was probably one of the best, most well thought out movies of 2002, but since there were no big budget special effects, no aliens exploding on glass windows, no laser guns or big, impressive spaceships, people blew it off as a failure. No doubt the trailers shown were misleading, but that would be the fault of a poor marketing team more than anything. Regardless, the movie made a good deal of money, as it deserved to, since it was well scripted, the acting was superb, and it did an excellent job of telling the story Shyamalan intended it to, regardless of whether or not that story is the one people were expecting when they walked into the theater. I never enjoyed Shyamalan's previous movie, Unbreakable, but Signs actually gave me a better understanding of Unbreakable, which takes the same path Signs does. For fans of massive action and suspense (although Signs did have quite a bit of suspense), then yes, both of these movies were slow, but for people who enjoy a lot of psychological meat in their movies, Signs does the job in spades.
