I was tempted to get the XP 1800 until reality set in, I don't really need it. Unless I can find 2-3 other AT'ers who are willing to split the costs :D

AMD Athlon? XP 1800 1.53Ghz
512MB SDRAM
60GB IDE Hard Drive
300GB Bandwidth
5 IP Addresses
Red Hat? Linux 7.3
$0 Setup, With CPanel5/WHM - $0 Setup, $107/month
(Three month prepayment required)

Wow.

Dude....I really think I'd be willing to go with you on this. :) So it's our own colocated box? I can't see the site at work.

Bah. Servers do nothing but sit there and help others. ;)

You know RossMAN, you could set up a system like E-Rice has, where you've got the colo box for yourself, then just charge people low fees for hosting low-bandwidth sites to cover your costs :D

Bond, yea...but colo fee are generally pretty expensive. I haven't found too many locations where they allow that for much cheaper than the price that this place is offerring. but it seems that this place isn't really offering colo service...more like a dedicated server type deal.

Cool so far I have 1 offer.

It would be nice to split this 3 ways each person gets 20GB Hard Drive space, 100GB/mo bandwidth and 2 IP's (I'll just use 1 the other can use 2 each). All for $36/mo with 3 months upfront which is $108 and $0 setup.

I believe this is managed dedicated with Nocster not colo, they are different right?

I sure can...however I show the server i think you're takling about as the Athy XP Managed Server @ 99.95/mo + 19.95 for the cPanel. So is it more like 119.90/mo or are you talking about another server?

Otherwise, 119.9(+tax?) isn't bad for a dedicated box. I'm still willing to do that.

*Edit, I see where you get your numbers now. That's after the 3 way split. Sounds like a great deal and youi can add IPs to the box too. I'd be mroe than happy to set this up w/ you. Feel free to PM me as i'm sure you'd be the one handling billing I'd assume.

Do you have AIM? If so please contact me tonight MelloRoss

It's $107 includes WHM and CP / 3 = $36 per person

I could handle the billing but either you or minendo would have to handle the technical aspect, whichever is more qualified.

I'd be willing to run a server if someone donates a copy of the game for me ;)

Psst... That 60 gigs is BEFORE the OS is installed. You will lose at least a gig to Linux with all the options you will want.

Not really...i estimate around 600Mb. And with 60 Gb, that's not a big loss.

<-- not concerned.

It's a 60 gig drive, you will not be getting 60 gigs once it's formatted :p

a dedicated server is basically when you rent a machine and a connection, a colo'd box is your own machine, they just give you the connection and a building to put it in.
