OW! Do you ever stab your gums with your toothbrush?

I was minding my own business last night, brushing my teeth before bed, when I suddenly keeled over from pain. I fell on the floor, clutching the left side of my face, and toothpaste dripped uncontrollably from my mouth. I had jabbed the top of my toothbrush directly into my gums with probably 20-30 lbs. of force. I honestly think that's the worst short-term (10-15 seconds) pain I've ever experienced.

It's still extremely sore today, and my gums are all purple in that area. I never realized you could bruise your gums, but hey, I learn something new every day.

Ow, just thinking about it makes me cringe.
 
lol i did that about a month ago, and when i buckled the wife thought i was having a heart attack. hurt like a mother....

done that before, hurts like hell
mine was all cut up too...took almost 2 months to heal

Did he ever say he had kidney stones? Thats like saying "it was more painful when I chewed off my left leg because it looked delicious!"
 
My personal worst pain evar (short term - less than five minutes) is opening a door over my bare toes.

That hurts like hell, especially for not causing much damage....
 
I hate that. I always get a kanker sore when I do that. Thankfully I am more aware of that and don't do it at all anymore.
 
yeah i do it every now and then where i'll hit my gumms or the brush will slip and actually scratch em, soooo painful so i stand there with shock on my face looking at myself in the mirror with my mouth half open as if i am afraid it will hrut moe if i close em, sucks
 
HFS what are you doing useing 20-30 lbs of force bruching your teeth. The stuff that you can get off with a toothbrush will just wipe off. Any hard deposits need to be taken off by a hygieist. I tell all my patients to hold their brushes with their fingertips. Time is way more important than force. Lighten up. There is no reason to injur yourself wilst brushing.
