I just hate it when buildings/offices have huge disparity in temperatures from area to area....and it's ruled by the same temp controller.

The thermostat could be set at 72...but in one area it's 80 and in another one it's 60. That just makes for chaos.

And I agree you should cater to the "hot bloods", but only to a point. I like it about 70 degrees, which is comfortable. But a lot of women find that too cold so they put on a sweater or a shawl. But start dropping below that and my hands and fingers start going numb. It's not like I can put on a pair of mittens and type on a keyboard.

If somebody likes it at 65 you just can't have everyone wearing mittens and scarfs to cater to them. At some point that person just has to suck it up and sweat it out...or turn on a fan.

My mother is from Maine.... I'm pretty much hot-blooded. When it comes to a room, I prefer it under 70 degrees....but my wife is totally different.

I would be willling to bet the weight this woman is carrying might be one of the reasons, but overweight women often have thyroid issues that contribute to their weight....which may also mess with their perceived temp. It's like menopausal women have hot-flashes....the delicate hormonal balance in her is off for some reason and it's making her feel like she's in a furnace. I'm not siding with tubby....just giving her a little extra consideration.

Just another thread started so people can make fun of overweight people and feel good about themselves.

IMO these threads shouldn't be started for its no different then starting one about black people on chicken and water melon, Mexicans and green cards, and any other discriminating hurtful threads that are not allowed to be started. Obese people are people too with feelings, and some of the comments made by some are scary to say the least that one can think that way of a fellow human being. If Obese people went around making comments about skinny people as they do towards them all hell would break lose and "it wouldn't be fair" and you can bet all those threads would be locked right away ;)

So come on people, for Christ sakes act your age, not your shoe size.

Those who like the cold should always win. In our effort to be comfortable, we can only get so naked before being arrested. On the other hand, you cold pussies can put on another layer of clothing.

Agreed.

sounds like my building. in my area is regularly in the upper 70s, low 80s when the room next to us is like low 60s...

I have always prefered the heat. I had a meeting with my boss's boss yesterday, and that room was fvcking freezing, i was shivering a lot at the table we were at, and he finally asked me if i wanted to go get a jacket.

He is fat. I do believe that fat people like it cool, its like they cant seem to get rid of their waste heat that effectively, and need a huge temperature gradient just to lose their excess heat. It sucks the skinny people get shafted on this heat issue. Why cater to the heffers? Wouldnt it be a good incentive to all the fatties if everwhere was too warm, to maybe lose a little of the lard. We are not eskimos or whales in 30 degree F water.

OK so let me get this straight. You skinny people complain because fat people sweat and stink, supposedly a lot more then a skinny person does, so you want them to be hot, sweat up a storm, look like they are swimming in their clothes and look nasty dripping sweat on everything and you, and stink like a mofo and gross you out all day having to look at them sweating really bad and smell the sweat and bo going into the air OR stop your bitching and put on a long sleeve shirt?

Or is it because you have nothing better to do and your life sucks so bad that you have to make fun of them because your cold and they are hot, so you got to bitch, or when they are hot and sweating like mad your ok, but they now stink really bad so you have to now make fun of that and bitch?

Which fvcking is it and make up your goddamn mind PLEASE!

OH and for your information fat or skinny its up to each individual person on how their bodies regulate temp. I know plenty of skinny people who think 70 is to hot, and I know plenty of overweight people who think 75 is to cold and sleep with 3 blankets and still complain they are cold.
