What pisses me off is nondescriptive terms. WTF is Gatorade "Icy Blast"(made up name, but typical)?! How about a "Batman" flavored Slurpee? Fuck you. Tell me what the flavor is. If it doesn't exist in nature, use the closest description.

Bravo. This x 1000 WTF is "purple drank"?

This is ok in my book.

Especially with drink menus.

Also, no one is forcing you to eat at artisan restaurants. Apple Bees, TGIfs, Pizzaria Uno and Ruby Tuesdays has plenty of locations and seating if you view descriptive menus as an issue.

"Most potatoes I've seen are starchy white, ndot gold, much less "yukon gold", unless they were under the influence of butter sauce"

You do know Yukon gold are real right?

I was eating out many years ago and the server was rattling off the salad dressing options

"creamy ranch"

I've seen it called that at a bunch of places, the creamy part goes without saying. I mean what ranch isn't creamy?

There's definitely a lighter/saucier version of ranch that's around instead of the thick consistency I expect w/ creamy ranch.

Only someone who reports youtube videos for fun would take this degree of offense at marginally creative menu offerings. Or this is literally the worst trolly humble brag I've ever seen that someone just ate a "fancy" dinner.
As a matter of fact, I just had dinner at a restaurant where everything on the menu was "succulent, tasty, plump, juicy, dripping with, generous, a large portion, smothered in, heaping, piled high, mouth watering, sizzling, crisp, fresh, cooked to perfection", etc, etc, etc,-------

It was at Denny's :whiste:

No, this is a food critique thread. Basically its a rant against overly descriptive and highly colorful menu items, with a dash of skullduggery thrown in for flavor.

Weird, I interpreted this as an individual whose diet is limited to the varied options found on the Wendy's value menu commenting about things for which he is clearly ignorant.

Why would you bitch about overly descriptive menu items? Those aren't even overly descriptive. Had they told you the farm it was source from and how often the farmer fornicates with this organic sheep, it would have been overly descriptive.

I'd rather have overly descriptive than underly descriptive. I'd like to have an idea of the texture and taste of what I'm eating. Though, most places I eat out as, I can merely ask the waiter and they will give me the info I need.

There is overly descriptive and then there is Batman flavor. I get to decide which is which. I'm the decider.

Woah there .... you leave Wendys out of this. They are just a bunch of good ol' folks trying to serve affordable nondescript fare to everyday people like you and me.

I eat there at least once a week.

here most commercial non-artisanal ice cream shops sell the smurf flavor in addition to the "real" ones.

It's blue, and it's just normal no-flavor ice cream with sugar and blue colorant added.

wtf is normal no-flavor ice cream????? do you mean ice?
