Overlock gone wrong...........please help

k so i decided to try my hand at ocing my brothers pc....bad idea (dont worry i asked him first) anyway i start ocing it and i get it to the point where itll post but it wont go into windows. i then back down the oc and it says that windows had to fix somethen in the registry. it goes into windows now but the screen occasionaly goes black then come back like whenever i click something. i restart the comp then reset the bios to origional settings. after the post it tries to go into windows then says that Windows/System32/system somethen somethen somethen is corrupted and i should repair it using the orig cd. i get out the cd and have it boot from the cd. it says checking hardware config yadda yadda yadda. but it never leaves that screen. its just a black screen tellen me its checking the hardware. ive tried the cd in a diff drive and i looked at the cd and its not scratched.

the setup is

msi k8n nforce 4 ultra
kingston hyperX
A64 3000
maxtor 250gb sata (this was in sata slot 1 and had the OS)
wd 120gb pata

yeah, that exact thing happened to me. the hard drive got corrupted. that is the worst thing possible. you will have to put the hard drive in another computer, and try to get everything off of it. then, reformat it. and install windows. sorry for the bad news. you need to set the pci lock. otherwise the hard drive controller will get corrupted, or the memory will get corrupted and kill the hard drive.

Reformatting will solve your problem.
nTune did that to my computer.

I always back up the hard drive before overclocking😉.
In your case you can reinstall the windows or fix the system file in dos or use another computer to restore the system file.
