Overlcocking Athlon 64 (939) with dual or single channel pc3200

Hey ya'll, i'm fairly new to this overclocking issue. I just ordered me a 1x512 corsair cmx512-3200C@pro (led lights are cool).. and wanted overclock my athlon 64 3000+...would it benefit me to get another stick of the same ram? or just use the one stick?

overclocking hardware:

DFI|NF4 LANPARTY UT nF4 Ultra-D
amd athlon 64 3000+
Corsair cmx512-3200C@pro
Radeon x800xl
2 x 80 (8meg buffer) gigs raid

yeah, the Athlon 64 quickie thing is a really good guide (if time consuming)

that was a very helpful guide, but it doesnt say anything about how one or two sticks of dual channel memory effects overclocking. please help this helpless girl out:

I'm new to OC'ing as well, but I don't believe it affects the OC at all. But 1 GB RAMwill help system performance overall.

dual channel == ~3% speed increase.

so basically, i should save my money since another stick cost roughly 100 bucks for not so obvious performance gain. true?

Get another of the same 512mb Corsair. That would give you a great deal of performance.

The extra 512mb ram would be the big boost, not the daul channel. It's just a bonus.
