Overlay mixer

Hi,
I'm currently struggling to get the overlay mixer working on my laptop. My laptop is a Dell Latitude D410 attached to an external Samsung Syncmaster 245B 24" set to 1920 x 1200 60Hz. The overlay mixer works up to the res of 1024 x 768, but KMPlayer returns an error saying the overlay mixer is in use when I set my resolution over that.
This laptop is equipped with a Mobile Intel 915GM/GMS, 910GMS Express Chipset Family.

I believe this just might be the limitation of the graphics accelerator? (I really need a desktop...)
