Overheating....

Ok i am on my 2th 1.33 thunderbrid now (1st one melted) and i am haveing problems.. after running at load for serveal mins the system hangs. This board dos't have build in temp so i got an extnal temp ran the cenor though a air hole in the case and put it between the Fins of my Thermoengin cooler. its hit about 49 C when it hangs i am using a moooded antec case (exta blow hole in top) 2 rear fans (one in case w/grill one slot fan right under my geforce 2 pro) and 1 intake fan in the front i am using artic sliver 2 i am not sure what more to do please help!

sounds like the heatsink isnt attatched properly. Take it off, remove the Arctic Silver, reapply AS using only a VERY THIN LAYER. Make sure you attatch the heatsink with the proper orientation, and make sure the clip is on right (I've never used one personally, so I'm not sure how the clip works.) It sounds like you have good enough airflow, so that shouldn't be a problem.

Of course, it may not be a temp issue at all. Also look into driver problems, bad ram, bad power supply, etc.

ya i found that i was at 1st ws't getting at the center at 1st till i reverced the clip i 1st tried a very thin lawyer and its over heaed real fast someoen told me to try a litle more and its seems to be helping a littl. o this is so confusing..
