Overheating????

Hello everyone,
I hope someone can give me hand out there.
I just got this new desktop, but its been having some problems. The tower gets very hot on top, and after about an hour of use, it starts to shut of and back on. But, if I shut it off myself at that time, it will come back on by itself. If i shut it off after just a short period of time, it doesn't come back on.
I have AI Booster installed on it (i am not to sure what to use this for) and the temperature will be around 50 after a short periode of time, but got up to the 70 after some time.
If it is an overheating problem, what would be my options to cool the system down?

If the tower gets very hot on top it might be the PSU overheating. I had a PSU fan die on me and I thought the top of my case was going to melt. You can replace a PSU fan, just be sure to leave the PSU unplugged overnight so that the capacitors lose some of their charge.

Check to make sure all of the PSU fans are running.

Need to post your system specs...but definatly sounds like a heat issue, or LatinJones said, could also be PSU overheating, or a combination of both, but until we know what you are running its a bit hard to know for sure..

Definitely a heating issue. If your case is in an enclosure, or up against a wall, I would move it to a more open area, where it can breath a bit. Also, you may take your case cover off and run for awhile that way. If this resolves your problem, you need to consider some case fans for bringing air into your system (intake) and at least one case fan for blowing hot air out (exhaust). After that, if you still can't run with the case on, you will need to upgrade to a better heatsink / fan for your CPU.
