I just got a new ABit nf7-s mobo and installed into my previous case and put all the same hardware back in it. The CPU overheats. I go into the bios then go to the cpu temp and watch it go up untill the system shuts down. I have seated and reseated the processor and fan many times. I have a thermaltake volcano 9+ fan as well??????????????

Um, hard to say but is your heat sink mounted properly? It may have feet that are keeping it from contacting the processor core. That's the best hsf there is so the trouble has to be between the keyboard and the chair. I'm not trashin your skills, just pointing out that we all make simple mistakes, you can correct this. This hsf is so large that I take my board out to remount it.

Check that connection, that's gotta be the ticket. If you heat the mb too much it will die an untimely death.

Good luck,
