Overheating (Help)

Journey

I have a recently purchased HP Pavilion zv5340us (zv5000)...and I've been having a problem whenever I have large processes running (games, virus scan + other apps same time, etc). I thought it might be a virus, and my computer needed it anyway, so I reformatted, but i'm still having the problem...I thought it might be RAM issue, but i ran some memtests and that turned up fine...so I'm thinking it's probably an overheating issue (it does feel hot)...I tried putting it on a cooling pad, but i'm still having the same problems. My question is: Is it an overheating problem, and is there a way to fix it if it is?

Edit: I actually returned a zx5000 for this model, because I had an issue with the CD drive...but it's still new.
