That's why I added the mention of prescription 😉 I could probably find the other, but it would involve going to a redneck bar *shudder*

I doubt I have ADD, I just can't make myself do the things I need to do in my own life to increase my well-being - like cleaning up stuff so I can see what color my carpet is.

man, if there were a place to talk about procrastinating, I imagine that a tech forum must be one of the best.

Myself, I've come to see that procrastinating is caused by many things, but typically motivation and the intangibility of success beforehand. I still procrastinate A LOT (which is why I am where I am in life...), but I've gotten better about it. Start with little things like cleaning your room or just something boring and meaningless. Just get your ass up and start on it, the accomplishment of knowing you didn't procrastinate is amazing. If need be, set aside a "prize" for doing the task. From there, important things like studying, stuff for work, etc, remember that it's just taking that first step that's so crucial.

it's rather complicated, but having a reward for doing things can be quite motivating. tempt yourself with a movie, or a drink, or a video game after you do whatever you're thinking about putting off.
