Did your Asus motherboard include the AI Suite utilities? If so, there is likely a tab on the Turbo section for overclocking. The easiest (though not ideal) way is to click the Auto Overclock button and let it do it's magic. It will reboot a few times, and blammo, all your overclocks are belong to us.

You overclock by going to Google, typing in some basic information, finding a couple hundred how-to guides, choosing the one that most closely matches your setup, and then following it. Later on when you have a specific question or run into a problem that you can't solve, you come here and ask it.

Note that holding your hand and spending lots and lots of time to do all of the research and work for you is not one of the steps.

Okay, replace step 1 with "acquire balls" then go about the rest as normal.

Once you have jumped over the clock far enough, jump onto the clock so that you are situated over it and can survey the figures closely related to the clock.

Then begin testing your over-clock stability... stick an arm out, if you are still stable, wave your arm around, etc.

Welcome to the forum (and to our cynical amusement division). I have the FX8350 and FX8320 with Asus Sabertooth mbs do I'll try to help.

First are you using the stock cooler? If so your OCDs will be limited somewhat by heat output.

Second what amount and speed of ram?

If you Google FX6300 overclocking you will find a wealth of info.

I just checked the FX6300 specs and at stock it runs all 6 cores (3 modules) at 3.5Ghz and turbo boosts to 4.1 Ghz (I think only 2 or 3 cores goes to 4.1 Ghz). With a 200FSB this means the clock multiplier on the cpu runs at 17.5 stock and 20.5 Turbo.

I usually start by going into the BIOS and under the cpu setting change from auto to manual. I disable the turbo and in the case of the FX6300 set the multiplier to either 20.5 or even 21 and save, then reboot. Run diagnostics such as Prime95, OCCT, Intel Burn test and AMD overdrive to check stability.
