I can easily get an extra 225 mhz out of my 1.4 ghz completely stable without upping the voltage at all. All the people i see overclocking usually go up to 1.85 volts when Oc'ing over 200 mhz. Im running an Ak31 v2.0 . Do you think this stability is due to the power supply? or the motherboard? or both?

Honestly it's everything. Good PSU, Good memory, motherboard and probably most of all Good CPU.
Any of those things can cause issues. Good overclocking results are as much luck as anything.
The luckier you are the better the results. You can increase your chances of success by seeing what equipment others
are using and works, but 1 hungover tech in the clean room can reduce your overclocking to nill.
