Man...that makes me want the Noctua.
Just not a fan of how HUGE & HEAVY it is...
Get the VX or Megahalems Shadow. 99% of the performance without motherboard snapping torque!

hi,
temp reading depends on T.J. Max value
why do you have it as 105C?
When I run realtemp I have it as 99C for the same i7-860
and this tjmax can be set, however as I read can NOT be get from CPU.
This might explain why one see one values and another one sees it in +/- 3-10C range.
yes, you get nice temp drop by moving from default hsf
as well as I moved to term contact 29 just a week ago.
Any one knows what's correct tjmax for i7-860?
Snip
I've concluded that while 4ghz is definitely plausible if I push vcore higher but do I really want to, not really. Performance is what I like and lower temps will be better during the Summer months.
I updated with another screen shot of the same clock speed with the ram multiplier set to 8 instead of 6.
Hi, not speaking from personal info but from another thread regarding the H50 (think on these forums... but maybe it was a link to the corsiar forums... will have a search through history when i get bk on home PC) as i am interested in trying one of these myself.
Anyway... lots of people reported better temps with the pump/ hs mounted upside down. By this i mean the 'Corsiar' logo should be upside down when attached to the CPU/MB.
Run some benches and see for yourself![]()
