You see what I have, I am using a divider to cut the RAM down to 533 in hopes of getting a good OC. Currently I have only been able to get it to 2.5 GHz before it will not post. Please help, first timer with the Duo.

BIOS version is 5.8 I think. I am also using the stock thermal crap since I lost my tube of AS5

the P5B does not have dividers that allow you to run your ram slower than your fsb.

only dividers are 1:1, 4:5, 2:3, and one more... but all of them make your mem run higher than your fsb...

Bios revisions are usually listed as ... i.e. 0804, 0711, 0908, etc...

Make sure you have at least 0711 or newer...

Umm, there is a setting for memory speed. I have it set to 533, and it is scaled up to 600 right now via overclock. 2.44 GHz is what I am running at.

that is because when you set it to 533 it is 1;1 ratio or 2x ram multi with the front side bus. 266system bus is 533ddr2....that is matched perfectly in snyc...

600 is because you are likely running 8x300fsb with stock ram divider....

Now if you set 666 that is a 4:5 ratio or 2.5x ram multi...At stock fsb it will set you ram to 666ddr2. It will also let you run 800ddr2(PC6400) when you set your fsb to 333. In that case with an e6400 that would be 2.66ghz....

In your case you should run 8x400 with 533set form ram so that the ram will run 800ddr2 or 2x the fsb
