well, i have an E6400 @ 3.48GHz @ 1.52v on an eVGA 680i-AR.
it used to be at 3.6GHz but i've been doing more intensive tasks that need a little more stability.
but every once in a while (not regularly) it beeps. it seems to be coming from the motherboard speaker. is it telling me that my NB is overheating (it's at 59C) or what?
Thanks in advance.

are you watercooling or on air?

that is a fairly high voltage. you could probably get 3.2 on under 1.4v and it would be better off for your stuff - and a negligible difference in speed.

on air. temps for the processor are 38/54-58/62 (idle/Orthos/TAT). i would really like to know what the beeps are. i know i can get 3.2 on stock voltages but i notice the speed in my work and i get bored waiting. lol.

you notice the difference on what work on a .248ghz speed difference?

sounds a bit much

im not sure what that beep means. but if you are wondering if it is your oc, just run it slower for a few days and see if it beeps or not. simple way to eliminate the oc.

i am a moron? i am sensing the presence of an e-penis enlargement.
at 3.5-3.6 GHz, it takes my computer from the time i type in my password til it is done loading only about 20-30 seconds.
at 3.2GHz, it takes my computer about 30-75 seconds.
at the lower clock, not only am i running slower clocks, i am also running at lower bandwidths (at all times, my RAM is at 900 4-4-4-4).
at 3.6GHz, my bandwidth is over 1 GB/s better than 3.2 GHz, and i am loosing 400 million clocks (400 MHz) each second. i am not a moron.

A 400MHz clock speed difference can give you up to THREE QUARTERS OF A MINUTE Windows load time difference? I think your computer has more issues than clock speed.

I JUST lowered my processor AND memory down to stock speeds (2.4GHz / 800MHz), which is over 1GHz of clock speed loss. I noticed roughly an extra 2-3 seconds to load Windows tops.

I can break out a stopwatch and time it if you'd like.

yeah i had clocked my cpu to 3.5 and run super.pi and stuff and booted into windows and i noticed only very slight differences from 3.2, and only cause some benchies told me (super.pi)

he wasnt even talkin about 400mhz it was just about 250mhz.

of course i didnt know he probably has other pc issues when i called him a moron, since i knew the difference in windows boot time would be minimal - which if you think that is sloooooooooow you are a moron :)
