overclocking does void your warranty, just like refilling your ink cartridges for your printer voids your manufacturers warranty, and opening your case voids your manufacturer's warranty(except Micron). IF you burn your chip, they are gonna wonder how. but like previous people said, you could say it was a surge. unless that may not cover it up...
