Overclocking Vista

Hi
My motherboard is the gigabyte 965p-DQ6. I am running windows vista rtm. I tried overclocking it through the bios, I put it up to full speed. Vista would not even boot. Then I tried overclocking it just a little bit through the bios. Then vista started freezing on me. My motherboard's overclocking app (easy tune 5) does not work not work with vista. I have tried clockgen, does not work either. And windows vista does not have an overclocking function built in. Is there any other way to overclock my cpu?

I wouldn't go there yet, but it's your hard disk 🙂. Vista drivers are not yet mature and stable.

I have Vista on a second drive. My CPU is an A64 3500+ @ 2.5GHz. The overclock is done in bios and both XP and Vista boot perfectly. There is currently no way that I know of to overclock video in Vista except to mod the video bios.

hmm, seems like a noob. Maybe you should do a little actual research before trying that. You don't wanna blow anything up. LOL

OCing your CPU should have no real affect as long as you have stressed it for 24 with no errors, even 1 error could throw a spanner in the works
