Well I did about 9 different serches and didnt find what I was looking for so I hope you folks can toss me a bone.

I am no genius on doing OCs, but I'm pretty sure (I have taking quite a few shots to teh head so I could just be confused as usual), that I read an article that stated their is a nice OCig utility out there that runs some test on yoru box and tells you what you max potential CPU and memory OC is. It will then let you do a software OC to those specs.

So my question is, does anyone knwo of such a program? Or, should Is top leading with my head, or possibly wear a better helmet?

Note: Yes my typing sucks, and yes I am to lazy to do a spell check or fix it :)

Such a program, if it existed, wouldn't work.

There is a program that lets you overclock in windows called clockgen, but it doesn't determine the best overclock for you. It just allows changing of FSB and in some cases Multi and vcore in windows.

Well I'm not over clocking my system. It has moe trhan enough cajones for any game out right now. I had a firend who is interested in it, and he has never OC'ed anything, so I wanted to attempt to make it as idiot proof as possibel for him.

If he's an idiot, tell him not to overclock. You can definitely screw things up by overclocking.

In my opinion if you want to overclock, but are not smart enough or are not motivated enough to do the research to figure out what to do and what the potential ramifications are, then you shouldn't be overclocking.

Listen to what Concillian says and tell your friend to not overclock. If you are encouraging him on, who will he blame when things go wrong?

I wanted to use clockgen but I couldnt find one which supported my mobo (Abit KT8Pro) so I'm stuck with using the OC Guru thingy but can't for the life of my figure out how to lock the AGP/PCI thingy
