Can the p4 2.2 A reach 2.4 speed easily with stock HSF?

Just a thought, what do you o/c gurus think?

I am upgrading my baby in just a few hours, I am just waiting for the clock to hit 16:30 and then it is time to have fun.

This is what I have :

* Asus P4 S533/Lan
* P4 2.2A - standard cooler
* MSI G4 Ti4400
* Samsung DDR 333
* Adaptec Ultra 2 SCSI controller
* IBM 18 Gb 15000 RPM harddisk

I'll let you all know how high I can overclock my computer ......... I plan to stop at 2.6, but let us see.

P4S533 w/ 2.2A @ 2.535GHz w/ stock heatsink & fan with OCZ PC3000 @ 2-3-3-6 interestingly the mem scores on sandra are almost on par with rambus.

Just curious why do you plan to stop at 2.6?? I dont stop until it not stable then I turn it down just a notch.

Hi Renob !

I don't want to toast my CPU, just squeeze it a little, but not too hard !

I actually don't have that much time on my hand on testing 1000's of settings, I want to use it too ;)

I am at 2.535 with mem 2-3-3-5 and the temp is between 42 and 47 which seems good. Whether it is stable only the future will tell.

I have spent almost one night installing all my partitions, f... I hate that old 1024 cylinder boot limitation.
