Overclocking the opteron 140...How far?

I might purchase an opteron 140 since the price is right as long as I can get it up there. How far do you think it would be able to clock on water? On air? Basically since the fx is the opteron 14x series, it seems pointless to wait for the release of a higher clocked renamed processor when I can get it now for alot less. Thanks

its gunna end up being less when it becomes the althon64. enterprise chips will always cost more than desktop.

and probably not much, as these are still very early in the process, and normally you need to get them when the proces is refined and working really well.

Right but I have the option of waiting to save 50 bucks or getting it now and ocing it to a64 launch speeds assuming that can be done. Thats what i need to find out. Ive read articles of 2.0 opteron 246's getting to 2.25 on air but no one seems to be writing about the 14x series. Anyone know or read anything that would be useful to me?

The 14X series is the same as the 2's it's just not validated for dual proc. mode and they disabled it's ability to work in multi proc systems so it should overclock just like the 24X series

I don't think they'd overclock that well since they are still fairly new...it always seem that the more mature the process gets for making the processor the better it overclocks

I dont care how high it will ramp up I just want to be able to hit 2.2 ghz like the on I saw online. I can do water but would prefer air. I still havent gotten a straight answer but I expect not many people have tried this.
