im looking at my k7m specs and it states it is a 200mhz fsb board, uses pc100 ram. I look at my 700mhz slot a tbird and it says runs on a 200mhz system bus. im putting in 133mhz ram from crucial. i know it will work but in my bios my speed is set to 100 and i raised it to 110 and its running well, no problems. if its a 200mhz fsb board & chip, cant i put that number up to 200? just curious.... if not can i set it to 133 to match my ram speed, its pc133 cas2 256mb. all my other system devices will work in a 133mhz or even a 266mhz system. I have an rme digi96/8pst audio card (which amazes me everytime i hear it) and an ati 64meg ddr radeon. other then that i have a atapi zip drive, tdk burner, and a western digi hd.

what do u guys think?

when it says its a "200mzh" board its really saying its a 100mhz double pumped.

and even though your board has settings for 133mhz i really doubt it will run that high. your board is based on the kt133 chipset, and for the most part it only gets to 110-115mhz

All I can tell you is keep creeping up the front side bus until you start having problems, then ease it back off to the last stable operating front side bus speed. You are using a slot A Tbird so you don't have to worry about overclocking the L2 cache like the classics. One question though, will the Slot Tbird use a goldfinger device. The reason I ask is that you might start running into instability due to pushing the processor too fast while increasing the fsb. You could then back down on the multiplier while increasing the fsb to maximise your memory throughput, the biggest problem with the old irongate chipset.

im still waiting for my northwind rev3 gfd to arrive, right now im @110 stable, once i get it im going to try to set the multiplier to 9 as to see if i have the 900 core, ill bring down my fsb to 100 and see if its stable, if it is ill bring the fsb back to 110 and see what happens, but yes ive already cracked the case open and there are golden fingers.
