Need a little help, just bought a p4t533c board and pc1066 mem chips. will be using a water cooling system from Sharka. have not purchased a cpu chip yet, what would my best bet be to get to 2.8 +..

Waiting for 2.53 prices to go down, but not sure if thats the eight one to use.

Your guess is as good any. OCing is pretty much hit and miss at the level you want. Just make sure that your PCI bus and AGP are not too outof spec. For example, consider buying a 2.0 ghz with 100 bus and ocing it to 133 to achieve 2.66. Change your PCI divisor from 3:1 to 4:1 so your PCI is still running at 33mhz which AGP is at 66mhz.

If you are really lucky you can get 2.8 with a 1.6a you may be able to get it with a 1.8a. If you really need 2.8 though just get the fastest chip you can so you are not dissapointed.

I can get into windows on my 1.6A at 2.8 unfortunately its not very stable so if i want it stable i have to stay at 2.75 something around there
