System spec:
DFI Lanparty NF4 Ultra-D
AMD 64 3000+
evga Geforce 6800GT
1024 (2x512) mb Corsair Value Select, pc3200

Okay, so DFI finally released a new BIOS yesterday which fixed the memory incompatibiltiy issues and allowed me to overclock. I got my HTT safely up to 230 with 1/1 RAM/fsb ratio, only having to give a slight bump to voltage (1.4 to 1.54) to keep it stable. I ran Prime95 blend test (torture test) overnight with no errors or issues. So everything looked great...

However, when I go to start World of Warcraft, the game won't even load properly. The log on screen will appear warped, and my video will completely freeze, forcing me to hard reboot my computer. When I revert back to stock speeds and voltage, the game runs just fine.

This may be a noobish question, but please forgive me... I haven't worked heavily with computers in a while. Is there some setting I need to change to increase voltage to the GPU? (I didn't see any such option in the BIOS).

Another thing which could be an issue is that my Video card is Dual DVI - and I have a standard VGA connector to my monitor, and it's going through the little adaptor that came with the card. This could be an issue, but I'm not sure.

I hope this is in the right place and I hope it's appropriate... if any more info is needed I will reply quickly. Any help would be appreciated greatly, thanks!

I have found that several games are actually more demanding than Prime95, memtest, and other benchmarks. My O/C was stable in Prime and all the other standard benchmarks and stress tests, but HL2, X2, and WOW all would randomly freeze, BSOD or reboot. In my case I upped the vdimm and all was good.

I guess gamers should start stability testing by running loops of HL2 demo, or other demanding game demos.
