I'm trying to figure out how you overclock this. There is a place in my bios where you can set the FSB. By default, it's at 166. But, when I put it at just 167, the computer won't post. So, does it mean this processor won't overclock?

Usually this means there is something either not working on the motherboard end, or something overlooked because I don't think there's a modern CPU that won't clock a single MHz more FSB.

QFT... Something's not right with yours otherwise... Are you sure it's a 3100+? It could be a slower Socket A model as well (only they don't have 3100's for S462), hence the 166MHz FSB... What's your system like?

EDIT: Are there jumpers to be set on the mobo maybe?

1.Which motherboard and memory do you have?
2.Are you using the latest bios for your motherboard?
