Overclocking RAM

So I'm going to overclock my RAM today. Currently, it's sitting at the DDR 533 divider, running at DDR 600. By changing it to the DDR 667 divider my RAM should be running at DDR 800 because my system is currently overclocked.

I currently have two sticks of these RAM. Kingston ValueRAM

I know that my RAM should be able to run at DDR 800 at 1.95V, but how can I use memtest to verify that? I can't leave my computer on overnight so are there specific tests that can help me quickly verify that my RAM can run with 100% stability at those speeds?
 
I didn't think with overclocking anything was guaranteed 100%. Also, without a long test you can't tell stability. There is no 5-10min test that will give you what a 1-2 hour test says about stability, as far as I know.
 
True, but I remember reading in a topic here that certain Memtest's tests stress the RAM more than others, thus making it easier and quicker to verify that my RAM is stable. I believe that it was test 5 and 8.

John recommends running at least 5 passes of test 5 and 2 full passes of Memtest when he overclocks as seen in this topic.

I think if it passes maybe 30 passes of both test 5 and 8 and a few full pass of Memtest, then my overclocked RAM could be considered stable.
 
I ran Memtest with the DDR 667 divider, thus making my RAM run at an overclocked speed of DDR800. With DDR 800 5-5-5-15 2T @ 1.95Vdimm, I was able to pass 1 hours of Memtest test #5 and 2 hours of all the tests.

Do you think it is possible to run at DDR 800 at tighter timings while still running with 1.95Vdimm? 1.95Vdimm is the max voltages that the BIOS will let me set for my RAM.

If anyone is running the exact same kind of RAM as me and it's overclocked, can you please post your overclocking results?

@Serpent. I don't think I'll run that, I'll stick with Orthos. Thanks for the advice though.

Verify the RAM speed using CPUz 1.40 or higher. Try 4-4-4-12-2T. Worst case, you will need to reset BIOS. One hour @ test #5 is sufficient.

I have the same type of Kingston RAM (single sided), except it's DDR2 800. Good up to 602MHz @ 5-5-5-18-2T/2.1V.

I'll try tightening the timings today to 4-4-4-12 2T. Hopefully, I won't have to reset the BIOS by clearing the CMOS since I have no clue on how to do that.
 
My RAM is now running at DDR 800 4-4-4-12 2T with 1.95vdimm. It passed Memtest test #5 for 1h and 15m and test #8 for 1h and 15m.
 
Hey guys. Sorry for the old thread revival, but I'm wondering what is faster. DDR 800 4-4-4-12 2T, or DDR 800 5-5-5-15 1T. I tried DDR 800 4-4-4-12 1T and my system didn't POST, forcing me to clear the CMOS. My computer specs are in the sig.
 
Wild guess here, but I am almost certain 4-4-4-12 2T is faster than 5-5-5-15 1T on Intel boards.

Run SANDRA memory bandwidth and PCMark05, compare the results and let us know!
 
Actually, the specs are 333MHz @ 5-5-5-15 🙂. I'm gonna try 400MHz @ 5-5-5-15 1T when I go out tonight. I shall post the results hopefully tonight when I come back or tomorrow.
