Overclocking Question:Multiplier changed, but WCPUID says it'snot

I finally got around to overclocking my new system but I have a problem. I have a tbird 800 on an ABIT KT7 RAID. I connected the L1 bridges using a HB pencil and I felt like I put plenty of lead down. I changed the multiplier and then downloaded WCPUID. It indicated I was still at 100X8. I rebooted and checked the multiplier in the BIOS and it was still 9. After saving the setting and watching the startup process I noticed it said 100X8 too. The tbird has all of the required pins so that is not it. Is this what happens if the L1 bridges aren't connected well or could there be another reason. Thanks.

Sounds like you didn't get the golden bridges connected, try using a rear window defroster repair kit.

Dont put it on too thick, you may have put on to much and the lines may have overlapped. Try doing it again and make it as thin and dark as possible. I had to do mine 3 times before I got it right.

Well, I took off my hsf and connected the L1's with a pencil again and rebooted. When I first ran WCPUID it said the multiplier was 7 (700MHz) on my 800MHz chip. I booted into the BIOS and checked the multiplier which was still said 9 from earlier. I set it to 8.5 and booted to windows and checked WCPUID again and it said the multiplier was 8. Is there any other reason besides the L1's not being connected that would cause this? I am sure I put down enough lead (hb) to get it done. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks.

Still haven't fixed it, so I thought I would give the forum another try(kinda disappointed I didn't get more responses). I haven't tried the window defogger yet but I will if noone else comes up with another possible solution. Has anyone else had problems overclocking with a pencil? Thanks.
