This has prob been asked already, cant seem to find what i'm looking for.

Here are the parts i'm buying, want to overclock the q6600 to a stable 3ghz, can someone tell me what settings need to be made in the bios and does it need to be flashed beforehand.

There used to be a website, overclockers.net, that listed what hardware folks were using to overclock and there settings, but i cant find it anymore.

Case: COOLER MASTER Elite 330
MB: GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA
PS: CORSAIR CMPSU-550VX
CPU: Core 2 Quad Q6600
Cooling: ZALMAN 9500A 92mm 2 Ball CPU Cooler + thermal paste
RAM: G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) F2-6400CL5D-2GBNQ
Video: PNY VCG96512GXPB GeForce 9600GTl
DVD: LITE-ON 20X SATA Model LH-20A1S

sorry if this was asked already, thanks for the help all.

I would start by reading the guide graysky wrote. It's stickied at the top of the forum.

Taking a G0 to 3GHz on DS3L will be a cake-walk.

But to get started I recommend:

Step 1) Read Graysky's sticky.

Step 2) Forum search DS3L in CPU & Overclocking section.

Step 3) Forum search Q6600 in CPU & Overclocking section.

Step 4) Start a thread reporting specific issues you are having if Steps 1-3 don't help.
