I've just received an email from a close friend. He states that the new BIOS v.1004 for the Asus P4B will allow the ability to overclock your Pentium 4 (478-pin) upto 2.0Ghz.
" ... You can just set the voltage upto 1.85v. This should be able to overclock your CPU up to 2.0GHz. See for yourself ... and if it works, please let your readers know that they can have a 2.0GHz P4 at a fraction of the price
In our labs I've seen them overclock a 1.5GHz up to 1.9GHz+ using this method. As the CPU speed grades get higher, the % of overclock gets smaller. For example when we tested a 2.0GHz CPU and did the same overclock, it only went up to about 2.2Ghz...still not bad, but you begin to see the limitation of the Williamette CPU."
Remember, use this BIOS at your own risk.
